Campership & Lutherhaven
Campership Committee exists to introduce or strengthen the faith of children by helping to finance participation in a Christ-centered camping experience in God's great outdoors. The committee spends all year raising funds and then supports Lutherhaven Ministries with scholarships to Camp Lutherhaven and Shoshone Base Camp. In 2011, we helped send 109 kids to camp! Our next meeting is Monday, April 9, at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

“Fabulous Fifties”

The theme of this year's Camp-O-Rama is "Fabulous Fifties." It should be a fun time since many of us remember those days of sock hop dances, ducktail haircuts, and poodle skirts. If you would like to donate some of your treasures to be auctioned, please contact one of the committee members.
UPCOMING CAMPERSHIP FUNDRAISING EVENTS:
Thrivent dinner at Holy Cross on Sunday, April 15. Campership will sponsor and serve spaghetti with French bread and salad. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. with dinner served at 1 p.m. Learn what our Thrivent chapter is up to, Updates for Advocates. Bring a friend. As always, lots of door prizes will be given away. If you'd like to come, please RSVP to Judy, 509-466-6258; leave a message with the number attending.
Round Table Pizza! Sometime after Easter we will schedule a night at the Five Mile Round Table where a portion of your purchase goes toward the campership fund. Remind famiy and friends who are not members of Holy Cross to come too because a portion of "all purchases" goes toward the fund-raiser.
Spokane Indians Baseball: Campership will be working at the concessions again this year during their first and last home stand games. The proceeds provide a large share of our campershp funds. If you would like to help at the games, it would be greatly appreciated--and it's a great time to fellowship as well. We will have sign-up sheets in the narthex prior to the games.

LUTHERHAVEN MINISTRIES
Lutherhaven Ministries is a Camp and Conference Center that includes Camp Lutherhaven on beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene and Shoshone Base Camp in the Bitterroot Mountains on the Idaho/Montana border.
Lutherhaven Ministries remains distinctive in the nation today as a pan-Lutheran outdoor ministry, owned and operated by congregations from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA,) the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS,) and Lutheran Church in Mission for Christ (LCMC.) Respecting our diversity, member congregations unite at Lutherhaven in our common calling to tell kids, youth, and adults alike about the redeeming love of Jesus Christ within the unique setting of God’s creation.
Each year the Holy Cross Campership Committee raises money to help send kids to summer camp at Camp Lutherhaven and Shoshone Base Camp. Last year (2011) we helped send 109 kids to camp.
