Son-Shine Lutheran Childcare

Our Purpose
Son-Shine Early Childcare Center was formed as a mission outreach to children and their families, teaching and showing God’s love. The Childcare will do this by providing a rich experience in “living” Christianity through an atmosphere that is Christ-centered and by establishing a working partnership with families and staff members in order to enrich the life, education, and development of the whole child.
Our Program
Childcare frequently represents the children's first separation from home. Part of this experience is learning that other adults can be helpful and loving. Children also have much social learning to do, something that is best accomplished in an atmosphere of love and concern for the needs of the individual children. Programs are planned to encourage and develop individual strengths and abilities, while helping the children to understand the value of cooperation and interaction with others. This is achieved through working, learning, playing, and sharing with other children as well as adults.
Play is the "work" of children. We take advantage of this fact and add many facets of early childhood teaching techniques to build a happy and strong foundation. By balancing active time with quiet time, teacher-directed activities with child-selected ones, and structured learning with fun time, Son-Shine Early Childhood Center will encourage the children’s natural curiosity and eagerness to learn about the Lord’s creation.

Hours of Operation:
7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
Ages:
Childcare is available for children who are at least 2 1/2 years old (and toilet trained) through 8 years old.
Pricing:
Nonrefundable Registration Fee:
- $50: Paid annually on July 1
- $25: If registering after January 1
Monthly childcare prices depend on your needs. If you schedule regular childcare for:
- 5 days per week: $600 for more than 5 hours/day or $300 for fewer than 5 hours/day
- 4 days per week: $500 for more than 5 hours/day or $250 for fewer than 5 hours/day
- 3 days per week: $370 for more than 5 hours/day or $190 for fewer than 5 hours/day
- 2 days per week: $250 for more than 5 hours/day or $125 for fewer than 5 hours/day
- 1 day per week: $125 for more than 5 hours/day or $70 for fewer than 5 hours/day
Drop-in childcare, i.e., childcare that is not regularly scheduled, is based on space availability and a phoned-in reservation:
- $5 per hour with a 2-hour minimum ($10)
