Son-Shine Early Childhood Center Director and Preschool Teacher:
Kellie Harbine:
Hello! I am Kellie Harbine, Son-Shine Early Childhood Center’s new Director. While I am new to Son-Shine ECC, I have worked with young children in a variety of settings over the years; most recently as the long-time director of Whitworth Early Learning Center. I earned my degree in education at Pacific Lutheran University and have continued my training in early childhood over the years. I am a long-time member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and my husband, Alan, works as a Thrivent field agent. We have two grown daughters and our son is a senior at Northwest Christian High School.
I am so pleased to be entrusted with the care and education of young children at Holy Cross and in the neighboring community. I appreciate the commitment you have made to early childhood care and education. I look forward to working with you as we grow this important ministry.
Jacquie Romaneschi:
My husband Brent and I have been members of Holy Cross since we moved to Spokane 23 years ago. We have three children: Elisa, Kendall, and Nathan, who are all Son-Shine Preschool graduates. I have been involved with the preschool since it began 20 years ago, so after 17 years of being a stay-at-home mom, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work in the classroom as a teacher's aide. I have been having fun with the children for three years now and can honestly say I love my job! When I'm not working, I am busy keeping up with my kids. We love spending time together at the lake, waterskiing and soaking up the sun. I also love to sew and scrapbook and I'm told I'm pretty good at baking cookies too! (Note from the church office staff: Yes--Jacquie's cookies are most excellent!!)
Patti Chichester:
After 40 years of full-time career work, I decided to retire but still wanted to stay active in the community. Working part-time at preschool has been the perfect fit. I grew up in Spokane, and my husband and I have four daughters between us. I have two daughters, Kacey and Kelly, two stepdaughters, Kim and Katie, and two granddaughters, Kelcey and Kendyl (yes, that's a lot of K's!). During the summer my husband and I enjoy our lake home north of Spokane, We spend just about every weekend there with our friends and family. Someday we hope to retire, spending our summers at the lake and winters in Arizona. Until then, working at Son-Shine Preschool is a wonderful experience! The students are a blessing each and every day I spend with them.
Lead Teacher--Childcare:
Jacki-joan Shannon:
I have worked in childcare for 20 years and am now semi-retired. My joy is being around young people (any age), with my family, quilting, and praying. Mike and I have been married 39 years and have three children--Heather (and Josh), Robert (and Jennifer), and Jack--and one grandbaby, Erika. God bless!
Childcare Assistants:
Barbara Smith:
I am a retired RN, was a nanny for my three youngest grandchildren for ten years, and have raised four children of my own. Children have always been my passion, and I feel very blessed to be a part of Son-Shine Early Childhood Center.
