Holy Communion:
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is celebrated every week; at the 11:00 Service on the first and third Sundays of each month and at the 8:00 service on the second and fourth Sundays. Distribution includes both commmon cup and individual cup and is a matter of personal choice.

Communion Practice:
We believe that in the Lord’s Supper we receive the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ with the bread and wine, instituted by Christ himself for us Christians to eat and to drink (Matthew 26:26-28; Mark 14:22-24; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-25). Through this eating and drinking, we receive the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.

The Apostle Paul notes the importance of those who come to the Lord’s Supper coming in a worthy manner (1 Corinthians 11:25-19); that is, coming in an attitude of repentance, recognizing this as the true body and blood of the Lord Jesus, and firmly believing Christ and his words that this is given for the forgiveness of sins. The Apostle Paul also notes the importance of unity within the body of believers who receive this sacrament (1 Corinthians 10:16-17). For these reasons and since Christian Churches vary widely in their teachings about the Lord’s Supper, we ask that all guests who have not been instructed and confirmed in a Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) please speak to one of our pastors prior to communing with us in our worship services.

Special Services:
During the seasons of Lent and Advent, special worship services are held on Wednesdays at 12:00 noon and at 7:00 p.m.

Summer Services:
Summer brings a plethora of activities. Here in the Great Northwest many people take advantage of the warmer weather and vacation on weekends. Holy Cross offers Wednesday night church services at 7:00 p.m. during the summer months, June through August.
