What About My Kids?
Holy Cross is committed to providing safe, fun, faith-forming experiences for your children. We invite you to browse our ministries page to find all that we offer; here are just a few examples.
Children are always welcome in worship. Every Sunday, one of our two worship services offers a Children's Sermon in which the message for the day is taught from the Bible to the children at their level. Upper elementary and middle school children participate as acolytes serving in worship. We offer a Children's Choir in which children have opportunity to share their talents with the congregation. Likewise, a few times a year the Sunday School children share their faith in song with the congregation. We offer a cry room, with a window to the sanctuary, where you may go with your child and still see and hear the worship service.
Holy Cross offers Sunday School for children year-round. During the school year it is a workshop rotation model in which each week the students learn the Bible lesson through a different medium: drama, storytelling, or arts and crafts, reinforcing the same story in three different ways for three different weeks. During the summer all the children are together for God's Big Backyard. Middle School and High School students also have engaging Bible Study times on Sunday mornings. Bible Day Camp offers a whole week of fun and learning for children preschool through sixth grade. Our Confirmation program provides midweek instruction in the doctrines of the faith for middle school youth, and high school youth meet weekly for fellowship and study in our Chosen group. Holy Cross also offers opportunities for your pre-school-age kids in our Son-Shine Early Childhood Center.
In Fun Fellowship and Service
Holy Cross offers fun fellowship and service activities for all ages of children throughout the year. From the Harvest Party on the last day of October to our campership program that sends children and youth to Camp Lutherhaven in the summer, your children will find plenty of opportunities to make Christian friends and serve God with them.
